I am an experienced practitioner and diligent student of multiple genres of writing.   As a writing coach, I can gently guide you to draw out your vision, but I can also hold you accountable to the task of bringing forth your voice as only you can.  As a writer myself, I have brought multiple completed manuscripts into the world for production and/or publication. I am also well-versed in grammar, spelling, rules and style; I have been correcting college-level papers with these concerns for four years.  I have a keen eye for detail, and I can get your manuscript polished and ready for publication.


One-on-One Manuscript Consultation

I can offer substantial, incisive, and thorough feedback on:

*creative non-fiction and memoir (my thesis for my MFA at Mills was creative non-fiction; I have taught personal essay writing at the college level for five years)

*fiction (I am a 2010 Lambda fellow in fiction; I have taught Short Story Writing at the college level)

*poetry (I am a published poet and acclaimed performance poet; San Francisco Poetry Slam Champion, national poetry slam semi-finalist)

*playwriting (I was the runner-up for the Princess Grace Fellowship in Playwriting, have had my work produced at: San Francisco Fringe Festival, Playwrights' Center of San Francisco, Women on the Way Festival, FoolsFury Theater Festival, National Queer Arts Festival.  I have written fourth-wall realism and surrealism, biographical realism, ensemble theater, and a one-person show of dramatic verse)

My rate for manuscript consultation (developmental editing) is 1 cent a word for prose, $10 a page for poetry, and $5 a page for scripts.

For copy-editing (proofreading for stylistic consistency, grammar, mechanics, and usage) the rate is half of what's listed above.
